Hi, I’m Jess and I am a student at Halesowen College currently studying BTEC Art & Design. I have previously studied A Level Art, Chemistry and Mathematics but found that I didn’t enjoy Chemistry and Mathematics as much as my Art course. Realising I was more driven towards Art (and there is also the fact I failed both Chemistry and Maths) I pursued a 2 year course in what I was truly meant to do. Continue reading “Jess”

Hey! My name is Molly and I am a second year student at Halesowen College. Last year, I studied A Levels in Law, Psychology and Sociology. Psychology was the most interesting, as we learnt about five different ways the brain can be studied, and research to accompany these approaches. Studying the biological approach was my favourite, as I learnt about the structure of the brain and which parts influence different behaviours and personal qualities. I chose to study psychology as I am hoping to continue at university up to PHD level. Continue reading “Molly”

Hi, my name is Varinder, I am 17 years old and I live in Birmingham. I am Indian but I was born in Mantova in Italy. I lived in Italy for 13 years but then I had to move to the UK for financial reasons. My college is called Halesowen College where I study BTEC ICT and A Level French. Before doing these courses I did A Levels in French, Business and ICT but chose to change them this year and just study the two subjects I like most. I love learning new languages and I would love to learn more languages and travel the world. Continue reading “Varinder”

My birth name is Katie-Ann, however my preferred name is Fen. I identify as non-binary, agender to be exact. I’m 18 and live in the UK. I’m currently attending Halesowen College studying BTEC Level 3 in Animal Management. Prior to coming to Halesowen I spent two years at Solihull sixth form doing A-Levels. In my first year I studied Ancient History, Classical Civilisation and English Literature which I thoroughly enjoyed. However, due to mental health issues and hospitalisation I dropped out and re-enrolled the following year. This time to study Media Studies, English Literature and Religious Studies/Philosophy. After realising A-Levels simply weren’t for me, regardless of how much I enjoyed my subjects, I enrolled at Halesowen on the advice of a friend to study Animal Management. Continue reading “Fen”
